The Golden Acorn Award is presented by a local PTA or council to a school or community volunteer, in recognition of her or his dedication and service to children and youth. Since the beginning of this program in the 1930s, more than 54,000 Golden Acorn Awards have been presented to volunteers throughout Washington State. Recipients receive a certificate and pin, and a contribution is made in their name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program that benefits students.
The 2016-2017 Smith PTSA Board presented this year’s Golden Acorn award to Tisha Linn for her outstanding service to the Smith Elementary community. Tisha Linn has served Smith Elementary PTSA as well as our community in several capacities over the many years.
If you are running an event at school and find yourself in need of any kind of help, Tish is always willing to assist and goes above and beyond in doing so.
She doesn't mind being the sole driver for a cause she believes in. She leads by example. We could go on and on! Tisha is a truly deserving recipient and our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes out to her.
