RUNNING CLUB
We have running club in fall and spring during 2024-2025 school year. We are open to do registration for fall season. It will run every Tuesday, outdoors at Smith Elementary covered Basketball Court, from 9/17/2024 to 10/29/2024. Run Time is 8:30AM-9:00AM. Check in time is 8:20AM. Parent volunteer chaperones are needed for each grade and must be LWSD approved.

CHESS CLUB
We will have four professional coaches run the chess sessions at Smith. The coaches have provided full-year class plans. The club was introduced with 80 spots but due to a high number of requests, the school and PTSA were able to reorganize existing space for chess to open 40 additional spots for new students. Registration is now open for these new spots.

We need at least one PTSA member present in each class, or the teacher cannot run the class at school. Contributing even an hour of your time would be very helpful.

ART CLUB
We are happy to invite the American Academy of Fine Arts to bring a wonderful art experience to Smith! There are three different sections in the 2024-2025 school year. The first section is “Illustration Storybook Design Class” from September to December. The second section is “Cartoon/Manga Drawing Class” from January to April. The third section is “Creative Art” from April to June.
The first session on Tuesday is full, but there are a few spots available on Friday mornings. We will open registration for the second session in December.

The second section runs from November to December, the third section runs from January to February, the fourth section runs from February to March, and the fifth section runs from April to May. The first section is now full. We will open registration for the second section in October.
