Details:
Smith International Night is back on Thursday, May 31st 6- 8:30 pm, hosted by the Smith PTSA.  This is your one stop shop for a fun filled evening of food, art, music and dance from around the world. Join us to celebrate the rich heritage and diversity of Smith community.

When you come to International Night, here's what you can see and do:
  • Parent-led country booths:  Ten families have graciously offered to host booths displaying meaningful elements from countries they have ties to.  Displays may include photos, clothing, food samples, native writing, instruments and more.  Come get to know more about a culture you may not be intimately familiar with.
  • Class Projects and Explore Art displays:  Classrooms across the school have been busy working on international themed artwork especially for International Night.  Come see what they've been up to!
  • Kids "Build a World Landmark" Contest Displays:  See which landmarks were entered in the contest and vote for your favorite.  Smith students will vote for Dolphin's Choice Award.  The winner will be announced at the event!
  • Crafts and Games: The PTSA Student Events Club has been preparing fun activities for International Night.  They will be hosting a Geo/Culture Quiz on stage for all Smith students.  Visit their hands-on craft booths to make your own crafts from India, China and Japan.  Have fun playing traditional games the Club has organized from Nepal, India and Zimbabwe.  Also, visit their "Spot the Country Quiz" booth to test your geography knowledge using a giant globe.
  • Kids Flag Parade: One of the highlights of International Night, the Flag Parade shows the amazing diversity of our community.  Over forty Smith students have signed up to participate.
  • Sister School Information:  Our very own Kellie Eaton will host a booth presenting information about her involvement with the Sister Schools charitable organization.  On display will be photos of her recent trip to Uganda, Africa, where she helped distribute supplies to schools and orphanages.  And, information on what you can do to help.
  •  Food!: The Falafel Salam food truck will offer delicious Mediterranean food for sale (credit cards accepted)
  •  A grand finale performance!...

Volunteer Opportunities:  As you can imagine, putting on an event like this takes a lot of teamwork.  If you'd like to be involved, we can use your help, especially with setup before the event, cleanup afterward.  To see all the event volunteering options, please refer to the SignUpGenius page.

Hope to see you there!
