DOLPHIN DAY WRAP UP!! We have met and exceeded our budget and our goal!!! Our final accounting of money raised through Dolphin Day, including the BBQ tickets and the auction pre-match is $36,492!! The total including estimated matching is ~$56,475!!! Thank you all for your tremendous generosity!!

Raffle: The raffle drawing took place on Friday, October 24!! There were many winners of great prizes! Thank you to all who provided prizes for this year’s Dash and congratulations to all of the winners!! Given the significant number of prizes available, all communications of winning prizes have not been completed yet, but would be expected to be done by the end of this week. We are determining the easiest process for distribution of the prizes, and likely will have a time during the ends of the school day when prizes can be picked up at the school. Our very stretched fundraising VP, Brandon Dow, is looking for volunteers to help in the distribution of the prizes to the winners. Please contact him at fundraising@smithptsa.org if you can help out with this part of the Dash over the next few days.

Yogurt Parties: The winner of the K-2 division is Ms. Howden’s class, which raised $2,037! The winner of the Grade 3-5 division is Ms. Greenberg’s class which raised more than any other class at $2,435! Congratulations to the winners who will be treated to a yogurt party!! We also wanted to acknowledge Ms. Gale’s class that raised $2,017.50 to come in 2nd place in the K-2 division and Ms. Carrillo’s class that raised $2,380 to come in 2nd place for the Grade 3-5 division! We have decided since these two classes were the only other ones to raise over $2,000 and the division winners were Quest 2/3 splits that we will also have yogurt parties for the runner-ups!! More details to follow shortly. A special thanks to Yo Plateau for providing not just the original two parties, but also donating the additional two parties!!

Limo Club: All students who have collected $200 or more in donations (pre-match) have qualified for the Limo Club, where they will have a chance to ride in a limousine with Principal Warner and/or other members of the faculty. The limo ride will likely take place in December/January, with more details to follow. Congratulations to the 57 students who qualified and who were responsible for driving $14,270 (40%) of the total proceeds from the Dash! More details to coming...you may refer any questions to Joel Freedman at president@smithptsa.org.

Microsoft Giving Campaign and Matching: The Microsoft Giving Campaign ends on October 31. Your Dolphin Day donations, membership, other donations to the PTSA and volunteer hours are all eligible for credit towards your participation in the Giving Campaign. Please have your time and money multiplied by Microsoft by submitting your donation to the PTSA for matching. Please ensure that the matching request is made to the Samantha Smith Elementary School PTSA, rather than to the school itself, as we are a separate operating entity that provides benefits on behalf of the school. You can find the correct entity on Easymatch by clicking HERE from your CorpNet connected computer. In addition to Microsoft, there are many other companies that offer matching for donations. Please take the time to double the impact of your donations through these generous company matching programs to the extent they are available to you!!
