Ballots for the April special election should be arriving in your postal mail shortly and there's a very important levy that we'd like everyone to know about because it affects our kids. It's called Prop. 1, or, the LWSD 2019 Capital Projects Levy.
The Smith PTSA unanimously voted to support and endorse the LWSD 2019 Capital Projects Levy.
We encourage all of our members to vote YES.
Smith will directly benefit by receiving security cameras to help protect our kids.
Background:
Lake Washington School District is one of the fastest-growing districts in the state. The 2019 Capital Projects Levy addresses overcrowding and provides needed classrooms for our kids. It will fund classroom additions to ensure kids have the spaces they need to learn. The levy invests in safety measures to help protect our kids. It will fund security enhancements at all elementary schools and entry modifications at high schools. Everyone benefits. Good schools and facilities positively affect our neighborhoods. Better schools help build a stronger community, which improves our quality of life, and keeps our neighborhoods desirable.
