Smith PTSA Student Events Committee Forming

The Smith PTSA is working to increase student involvement with the PTSA. We're developing a PTSA Student Events Committee comprised of students from grades 4 & 5. The committee will meet monthly or bi-monthly, before or after school, to discuss student participation in PTSA.

Students will have the opportunity to plan student-led events, like the upcoming talent show, a history or geography bee, or a creative recycling program, for example. Events will be hosted during PTSA meetings in the spring.

If your student is interested in joining the committee, email studentevents@smithptsa.org. Positions are first come, first serve.

A bulletin board has been mounted on the wall outside the main Smith doors.

Parent can find information on:

• Ongoing legislative actions
• Advocacy, and ways and means to participate
• Reminders of PTSA deals and discounts
• Parenting classes

Students can find information on: 

• Various competitions along with important dates and deadlines
• Ways to participate
• Forming school teams
• Local events at libraries, parks, and town centers
• District and statewide events such as soccer/baseball games, state fairs etc.
